March Madness

On Thursday March 15, 2018 March Madness started. Arizona, who was ranked fourth played 13th ranked buffalo in the first round. Arizona was the definite pick for most people. In the first half it was a close game with Buffalo leading 40-38. Buffalo shot 54.8% from the field and a solid 50% from beyond the arc while Arizona only shot a measly 11.1% from 3. Buffalo hit 15 from downtown which combined for 45 of their points.

Arizona went downhill in the second half as they turned the ball over 6 times and shocked everyone when they couldn't keep it close, as they lost 89-68 breaking a lot of brackets. It was a very sloppy game for Arizona

The madness in March has been real and more crazy than ever. In College basketball in March anything can happen and Buffalo proved that by beating Arizona. Another Cinderella team came to play this March in the form of  UMBC. The University of Maryland Baltimore County with the 16th seed entering the first round of the playoffs slated to play Virginia a well favored team. Never before in history of the men's tournament has a 16 seed beat a number one seed. The Retrievers fought hard in the first half ending with a 21-21 tie. In the second half the Retrievers played their hearts out and crushed virginia 74-54. This made NCAA men's tournament history.

In round two of the tournament they played a very good Kentucky team. They didn’t do nearly as well as they did against Arizona. It might be because Nate Oats, the Buffaloes head coach,  called the Kentucky coach a “whiner” and later apologized after the loss to Kentucky. People are speculating the apology is just because they lost and others think it was a genuine apology.

With one of their best seasons ever and their season over they are going to try and get back to where they were and go to the championship game and build a dynasty.
